Pastor Herb (Herbert) Mays and Pastor Becky Mays welcome you to The River At Portland Full Gospel Non-Denominational Church
Becky and I welcome you to The River At Portland.
We are Rhema Bible College Graduates, Kenneth Hagin Ministries, Broken Arrow, OK.
The Lord spoke to me while I was a missionary in Panama to come to Portland Tennessee. I was to minister to the remnant through love and the power of the Holy Spirit. There are many churches in Portland Tennessee but I believe the Lord sent me here for a special purpose.
Of the churches in Portland Tennessee we are one of just a few non-denominational churches. We place our trust in God to “supply all our needs according to His riches in Glory”. We thank God for the Baptist in Portland, the Churches of Christ in Portland, the Methodist in Portland, the Adventist in Portland and all those that believe in Jesus as Lord. We strongly believe in the present power of the Holy Spirit to minister to people today. We believe God is truly the same Today, Yesterday and Tomorrow. The power of God, by the Holy Spirit is present to bring deliverance, healing and salvation. I believe you will be blessed as we worship our Lord Jesus Christ and as we lift up His precious name.
Our teaching and ministry are based upon the belief that the Scriptures are the inspired Word of God and the revealed will of God.
We strongly believe that it is God’s will for every believer to be established in a local church. Of the churches in Portland Tennessee, The River At Portland is a Fellowship of believers in God the Father, Jesus Christ, the Son of God and the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the Holy Spirit direction in the working of miracles, the miracle of re-birth, the gifts of the Spirit and righteousness through the death and resurrection of Jesus, Son of the Living God. And we further encourage a holy experience of being filled by and led by, the Holy Spirit. Leading to the further magnification and illumination of Jesus and God the Father.
Experience of the tangible presence of God by the Holy Spirit is the fellowship God wants us to have. It happens when we totally surrender (die to self) and accept fully that Hebrews 11:6 is totally true (as are all scriptures). To surrender to God, is to be Victorious!
I have a saying “go with the flow”. My intent is that we flow in the Spirit of God in all things and especially when we gather together to worship in song, with a shout, in praise, in prayer, in tongues, with our hands raised, or on our knees. We come to lift up the name of Jesus and reverence our Father, God.
If we may be of assistance to you in any way please let us know.
Pastors Herb and Becky Mays,
